Overview
If you created a gradable discussion forum, you will be pleased to discover that Blackboard has not only created a grade center column to hold the grade, it has also created an easy-to-use interface that compiles all the posts from each student and provides a place for entering grades, feedback, and notes. All of this information will become a part of the grade history in Blackboard. If you created a rubric for grading the forum, the interface lets you refer to the rubric as you grade.
Points to Remember!
- If you do not have an option to grade a forum, check to make sure that you configured the forum to be gradable.
- It is a good idea to close the forum before you begin grading so that students cannot create additional posts after you have graded the forum. The best way to do this is to lock all threads and prevent students from creating new ones.
- Make sure that you have entered a grade for all students. By default, the grading interface only displays students who have posted to the forum. You should change this setting to display all students.
- Provide feedback, not just a grade. Use the feed back option to guide and encourage students in their learning.
