Chapter Two: Religious Traditions

 
   
Main Idea:  A religious tradition  can be defined by certain common characteristics.  These include:
  • "Creed": Beliefs and doctrines
  • "Cult":  Rituals and worship
  • "Code":  Ethics and morals
  • "Community": Criteria of inclusion or exclusion from group

The links below will lead you to some very general information about the major religious traditions.  Keep in mind that this information is very abbreviated and, to a certain extent, oversimplified.  Nevertheless, it does introduce you to some important concepts that we will be  referencing throughout the course.
